Tired Driver Adds Name to Fatalities

A tired driver, Roy Jack Rutherford, 21, of Aztec, dies in a crash on U S 550 near Aztec blamed on fatigue. Aztec Junior High football players on a bus suffer minor injuries and continue to Farmington. Je e Orty, 55, of San Juan Pueblo, dies from injuries in an accident near Penasco. Travel Man Faces Police Troubles in Egypt

Travel agent Paul Zink, owner of Travel Reservations, recounts a tense episode in Egypt during Oct 6 13 including passport checks and a $150 fine after hotel officials failed to obtain police clearance. Husband Hurt Coming to See Injured Wife

A husband from Hereford Texas traveling to Roswell after learning his wife was in an accident was injured in a second crash and admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital. Milton E. Busby, 30, sustained a compound leg fracture and head injuries when his 1957 Ford skid and rolled three times. Clyde L. Webber and Wanda Webber, both 30, endured minor injuries. The wreck occurred 11 miles west of Roswell on Bloody Run. Police investigated led by Billy J. Miller. Earlier, on Picacho Hill on Bloody Run, Pearl King Busby, 43, drove a coach towing a 22-foot trailer. passengers included daughters Joyce 14 and Lois 11.

Fifth Annual Circle Exhibit Opens at Roswell Museum

Roswell Museum and Art Center presents the fifth Circle Exhibit with about 25 works chosen from 200 submissions by a jury of Prof. John Tatech and Dr. Reginald Fisher. Four men to buy historic Ladder Ranch near Truth or Consequences

J P White Jr and three partners from Roswell and Albuquerque plan to buy the Ladder Ranch from Torrea Land and Cattle Co. The 46 120 acres of patented land plus state leases and federal leases total around 119 000 acres. The price is undisclosed and completion likely after March. The ranch sits 5 000 to 6 000 feet high near Gila National Forest.
