Mrs. Josefina Saenz of Juarez Mexico received posthumous Purple Heart and Bronze Star for gallantry in action as her son Pfc Hector Saenz of the 173rd Airborne Brigade was killed in Vietnam on June 22 1967. Also killed in the same battle were Pfc Trine Romero Jr and Lt Ellis McBride. Saenz served from Aug 1966 to March 1967.

English hillside jet crash kills 37 aboard Iberia liner
A Spanish Iberia Airlines jetliner crashed near Fernhurst Surrey as it was due to land at London Airport. Thirty passengers and seven crew died, with two Americans among the dead.
