Seventy eight Baptist men gathered in the church basement for a quarterly style supper hosted by the ladies. Rev George T Webb introduced Dr Lemuel Call Barnes who spoke on Modern Man and Modern Methods highlighting care for others in business and politics. The program closed with Kinney of Topeka lecturing on the Mormons and Elliott singing Rock of Ages before a large audience.

Blind Gospel Singer Found Dead in Los Angeles

William Victor Baker known as the "Blind Gospel Singer" was found dead in bed yesterday by his wife in Los Angeles. He was seventy. Baker and his wife, educated at a Philadelphia blind institute, married in 1884 and toured gospel work with evangelists Moody Chapman and Francis Murphy.

Proclamation Adds Alamo National Forest Lands in New Mexico

The President signed a proclamation adding 22 333 acres to the Alamo National Forest, New Mexico, and removing 245 450 acres. Effective at once for addition and January 5 1911 for elimination, the change follows a field study by the U S Department of Agriculture to correct forest boundaries. The expansion includes a large block near Two 20 S R 16 E and a strip east and southeast of Alamogordo, while eliminations occur along Guadalupe and Sacramento divisions reducing rough exterior boundaries.

Elimination of Public Forest Grazing Areas Planned for 1911

A 1911 proclamation designates eliminations of grazing lands east of Tularosa and along the Guadalupe Division. Strips ranging from one to nine miles wide are removed along the forest south boundary and near Elk, Big Box, Last Chance Creeks, and Devils Den.
