Paris and London greet Congress action lifting the arms embargo with relief and acclaim. French and British officials call the move a material and moral boon, noting Allied gains from US armament access while France and Britain gain leverage in supplies and rapid armament buildup.
B H Smith of Chillicothe may lose eye sight from an automobile collision four miles west of Roswell at about 10 o clock last night. His son Melvin Smith reported he is hospitalized at St Marys. They rode with Onis Mayfield who drove into the back of a truck. Mayfield says the truck stopped. others say they were coasting. Castulo Gamboa and Mr and Mrs Ramon Gamboa and baby rode in the truck. Mrs Gamboa suffered a cut on the head. Sheriff's department and state police investigated.
In Arizona 125 woodsmen ranchers and trackers join 75 from 800 in a six day search for 7 year old Bruce Crozier near Big Chevelon canyon 60 miles south of Flagstaff. Tracks show boot impressions last spotted Tuesday night or Wednesday. Officials say today could be the last chance to find him alive.
H G Moberly announced that A B Cotton becomes the Roswell Auto Co sales manager. Cotton, a Vicksburg native, began at Ford in Memphis on January 2 191, worked on every operation through 1919, ran Ford dealerships in Louisiana and Mississippi to 1922, then led sales in Denver for Ford guiding four and a half states, spent much time in New Mexico as zone manager for seventeen years, recently bought the Clarence Hinkle home at 406 North Missouri and resides with Mrs Cotton. they have two daughters in Denver.
President Roosevelt praised Congress for approving the neutrality bill and repealing the arms embargo. He said the move restores the United States to its historic neutrality and planned proclamations to implement the law once signed, with Senate action expected today and House action possibly tomorrow.
