Flogging by Unmasked Men Shocks Dallas
In Dallas last night Joe Westbrook 23 and Lon Johnson were attacked after being taken to the Trinity river bottoms. Westbrook says a dozen unmasked men flogged him with a wet rope while Johnson was forced to watch and later released. A $100 reward is offered for the floggers with Sheriff Harston adding $200. The Ku Klux Klan denies involvement though local officials say an investigation is underway. Westbrook says he is innocent and believes mistaken identity may explain the attack.
