Roswell sculpture honors city history in cottonwood trunk
A 16 foot sculpture carved from a 180 year old cottonwood tree stands at the Roswell Adult Center. Led by master carver Rex Branson, the work depicts Native American and cowboy themes with a landscape including a fish dropping eagle and space aliens. The project, supported by local carvers and David Sadler, moved from Margot M Purdy Park to its permanent place after six months.
