Joyce-Pruit won easily defeating Allied Grocers in a brisk ball game held yesterday afternoon. The decisive performance showcased strong offense and solid defense from Joyce-Pruit against the rival lineup.

North Carolina went dry Tuesday with the prohibition ticket approved in 78 of 98 counties and all large towns except Wilmington and Durham. The law prohibits manufacture or sale of intoxicants in the state after January 1, 1909.
