Mrs J C Smith Dies After Ill Health Sudden
Mrs Ina Ethel Smith wife of J C Smith died at the family home on Country Club Road yesterday afternoon at three o clock after several weeks of ill health. She was born December 26 1904 in Lone Oak Texas and had lived in this city three years coming from Bailey County. She leaves husband three daughters Dotha Bell Thelma Irene and Rosa Lee all of the city one son James Edward Smith of Roswell her father J W Shockley of Sudan Texas a brother Elmer T Shockley and a sister Mrs Effie Smith of Sudan. Funeral services were held at Talmage Memorial Chapel this afternoon at two o clock conducted by Rev W C Garret with the First Baptist Church choir providing music. Interment followed at South Park.

Pecos Water Still Roils On In Texas
Flood waters rose two and a quarter feet above the Red Bluff Dam flood gates on the Pecos River as additional rains fell in New Mexico.
