Confederates and Federals will jointly observe Decoration Day on Sunday with official observance Monday the 31st. Land office Post office and possibly other businesses will close that day in Roswell. A baseball game is planned between the Elks and the best team assembled, following a weaker showing last Monday.
Memorial Day was celebrated with impressive exercises in all Milwaukee public schools. Students and staff participated in ceremonies across the city on May 28, highlighting national remembrance.

A special matinee is set for Saturday afternoon at 2 30. Admission prices listed show children at 15 and adults at 25.

They offer quart boxes or cases of 24 quarts and urge buyers preserving for the season to purchase locally. J. R. Cook, railroad company master mechanic, arrived from Amarillo for a two day visit.
A public meeting at the Roswell Auto Club heard plans for a westward road to Alamogordo through the Indian reservation and forest reserve. Capt J L Donovan outlined federal support via Indian and Forest Service appropriations and routes, noting a six percent grade and culverts to prevent washouts on the hillside. Lincoln county pledged cooperation and the meeting discussed cost sharing and next steps.

Augusta Georgia May 28 ten trains started this morning nine fired by negroes white strike breakers were used as firemen and kept under guard for days. Many prefer no mail to mail run by negro firemen. Taft and cabinet sent chairman Knapp to Atlanta to urge adjustment and enforce interstate commerce laws.
Mrs Isaac Gronsky came back from Chicago after two months visiting her daughter Mrs Schlauder and meeting relatives about the will of a multimillionaire uncle. The will keeps the estate intact for the widow during her life and then divides it among 17 heirs in Europe and the Americas, with each heir receiving 65 000 to 100 000 dollars. Some heirs sell their shares to New York firms at a discount. Mrs Gronsky may do likewise. Relatives in New York City are watching the crest be looked after.
