Roswell Council Approves City Budget of 2.59 Million
Roswell City Council approved a 2.585 million dollar budget for the next fiscal year with 1.579 million for the general fund and 1.0058 million from water and sewer charges. Water debt service includes bonds of 3 million issued and 3.6 million planned for fall. Recreation Commission budget stands at 42,150, down from 52,475. cigarette tax reductions noted. A supplemental budget on police, fire, and WAFB transfer will be prepared in summer. A budget hearing is set for June 9 at 1 p.m. with state officials to approve or disapprove.

Fires Probed in Chama Area Burnings
