Kendra's Law Aims to curb deadly mental illness incidents
In New Mexico supporters cite Kendra's Law or Assisted Outpatient Treatment as a tool to reduce risk from severe mental illness. The law, signed by Gov. Susana Martinez, allows court orders for treatment for those with a primary diagnosis and noncompliance histories, with safeguards and a one year limit.
