Cheney warns terrorists will strike again in future
Vice President Dick Cheney says it is almost certain terrorists will attack the United States again, though he does not know if Sept. 11 could have been prevented even with full information. He cites vague hints of al Qaeda activity and defends past intelligence limits while urging preparedness.

Priest kept under outside monitoring in Seattle case
The Rev. John Cornelius, accused by at least three men, remains unconvicted and must meet multiple times monthly with a Washington state parole officer hired by the Seattle Archdiocese. The arrangement, begun in 1997 after investigations were inconclusive, aims to protect children while allowing the priest to remain in service. Critics say the measure sets a troubling precedent amid the church sex abuse crisis.
