Thorium and the molten salt reactor a cleaner energy path
Martin Kral argues forthorium molten salt reactors MSR as a safer cheaper alternative to traditional LWRs. He cites historical development at Oak Ridge under Dr. Alvin Weinberg, benefits like auto shutdown, reduced waste, underground operation, and potential for by products including cancer-fighting isotopes. He notes global interest and calls for more US involvement.
