Roswell Honda earned the Honda Environmental Leadership Award from American Honda Motor Co. Inc. for reducing dealership energy use by at least 10 percent. The dealer highlighted natural lighting, efficient heating and cooling, lower wattage exterior lighting, extra insulation, and oil recycling as part of its efforts.

Fire season restrictions take effect in Tricounty

Dry weather pushes Stage I fire restrictions on May 5 across Sandia Mountainair Mount Taylor and Magdalena ranger districts of Cibola National Forest. Santa Fe and Bernalillo counties ban open fires and smoking in many areas while restrictions limit campfires and fireworks. Exceptions allow certain petroleum stoves meeting safety specs.
