Hitler endorses Roosevelt plan to ease international crisis

Adolf Hitler in a Reichstag speech expressed gratitude for President Roosevelt's relief plan and pledged cooperation, insisting Germany seeks disarmament and will not threaten others. Meeting State Medical Society Here Tomorrow

The fifty first annual meeting of the New Mexico Medical Society will be held in Roswell Thursday through Saturday with over a hundred doctors from outside Roswell expected. Dr. H A Ingalls will preside. events include smokers, dinners, free transportation to Carlsbad Caverns, and sessions at the Elks lodge.

Lindbergh Testifies At Notorious McLean Case

Hundreds of admirers crowd Washington as Col. Charles Lindbergh arrives at the district supreme court to testify for the government in the trial of Gaston B. Means and Norman Whitaker charged with defrauding Evalyn Walsh McLean of 35000 over the Lindbergh baby plan. Means, already imprisoned for a prior McLean defraud, smiles in court.

Roswell Chamber Plans 13 Summer Radio Broadcasts

Roswell broadcasts begin late May on KRLD Dallas for a 13 show series likely Monday Wednesday and Friday evenings between 7 and 11. Roswell and Ruidoso may alternate, highlighting the city as a summer vacation hub with golf tennis fishing and scenic sights plus the Carlsbad Caverns. The publicity committee led by G H Hockenson includes J Stilwell Oscar Greene and Claude Simpson notes strong inquiries from Florida and Texas about spending vacations in Roswell.

Kiwanis Outdoor Party Delights Roswell Scouts

Roswell Kiwanis and Kiwanettes hosted an outdoor party with Kiwanis troop 4 Scouts on North Missouri. A fine dinner by Set. Jamuus V. Duthie and Mrs. Duthie preceded events. Contests included broom stick duels, nail driving, friction, and fire by flint and steel. The Kiwanettes pledged $15 for a Scout hut addition. President Paul Wilmot presided and the event was deemed a success.

Busy Bee Cafe Leased To Pete Leakow In Bankruptcy Sale

The Busy Bee Cafe is leased to Pete Leakow until sale by bankruptcy. Bids at a recent public sale were not accepted. The cafe will be readvertised and sold again. Referee in bankruptcy is James Callender. G T Watts serves as trustee for creditors.

Thaxton Dies From Auto Injuries in Roswell

Willard J. Thaxton of Roswell died this afternoon at St Marys hospital from injuries after being struck by an unknown auto last Sunday night on the Dexter highway south of Second street. He resided at 322 East Seventh street and leaves a wife and two children.
