Dr. Komaroff notes calcium remains essential for bone strength when paired with vitamin D. He recommends getting calcium mainly from foods such as low-fat dairy, fortified juices or milks, fortified cereals, leafy greens, sardines, and canned fish with bones, while avoiding spinach excess due to iron interference. He plans further research updates and invites questions via AskDoctorK.com or mail.
