Bernalillo County Treas. Sends Delinquent Tax Sale Notices
John Tierney, Bernalillo county treasurer, traveled to Santa Fe to secure 1200 dollars from the state tax commission to mail 6000 delinquent tax sale notices for Senate Bill 144. He plans to post the notices by six this evening after consulting with Byron Beall. The district attorney says the treasurer must fund the mailings, despite no county funds appropriated.

Man Struck by Car in Front of Burrow's Station
C W Turner was struck by Judson Goodart's car at Second and Atkinson near Burrow's filling station around 6:30 AM. Willard J. Thaxton of Roswell lay critically injured at St Marys hospital after a hit and run incident on the Roswell-Dexter highway near the cotton compress. Aubrey Hill reported a car swerving ahead of him and possibly striking Thaxton, with investigators unable to locate the vehicle or driver. Thaxton, with a broken skull and two broken legs, is married with two children and had been at the North Main employment office earlier that afternoon.
