Hugh Casey earned his fifth win as the Dodgers edged the world champion Reds 4-3 in Cincinnati. Casey allowed eight hits while Walters took the loss for the Reds. In other games, Bobby Bragan's bat helped the Pirates top the Phillies 6-3 ending a four game skid.
