Train Hits Car at McGaffey Street Crossing Near Roswell

A southbound Santa Fe passenger train struck a stalled Model A Ford coach at the McGaffey Street grade crossing south of Roswell shortly after 1 PM. Mrs. E T Howell and her two children escaped unharmed before the collision. no injuries were reported to anyone on the train. The car, damaged beyond repair, was toppled onto its right side east of the tracks.

Mrs Jennings Dies at Hagerman

Mrs Robert Jennings age 67 died at 7 45 this morning at her Hagerman home after a three week illness. She had lived in the Dexter and Hagerman area for fourteen years and is survived by eleven children. Her husband died a few years ago the funeral plans were not announced.
