Raby sells Southwest Dodge. Roswell auto veteran retires
Al Raby 71, longtime Roswell auto figure and president of Southwest Dodge at 1309 S E Main St, has sold the dealership he ran since 1964 and plans retirement with travel golf and fishing. Bob Crow of Roswell bought all assets and inventory, including about 50 new cars, with Chrysler Motors Corp approving the transfer May 8.

Bruce Ellis of Roswell Lumber, Roswell New Mexico, attended the Building Materials Buying Show in Denver where more than 600 retail dealers gathered to buy for spring from lumber and hardware vendors. Over 3.3 million in inventory was purchased during the two day event. The show, sponsored by the Mountain States Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association, serves Colorado New Mexico Wyoming Utah and southeastern Idaho with an estimated 2 billion in annual retail lumber sales across the region.

Business outlook cautious on 1988 recession risk
Business economists see a 25 percent chance of a recession starting in 1988 as expansionary forces remain fragile.
