Roswell Police urge public help locating Robert Sanchez last known at 900 N Pecan for armed robbery at 1300 block S Main near a pizza parlor and a separate carjacking of a Chevy S-10 in the 1000 block of W Riverside. A witness described force used on Antonio Galvan. One suspect arrested. Sanchez remains at large. Call Roswell Police at 624-6770 or Crime Stoppers at 624-6513.

Trinity Methodist marks 100th anniversary in Roswell
Trinity United Methodist Church celebrated its centennial with an anniversary service at 6 p.m. and a 10 a.m. dedication of new stained glass windows. Bishop Max Whitfield and area pastors attended. The church, at 1413 S Union Ave, traces growth from 11 members in 1903 to a peak near 1100 during Walker Air Force Base days, now featuring a day school, chapel, library, and a new Allen organ.

Speed limits raised on U S 70 between Roswell and Portales
The New Mexico State Highway Department raises the posted speed limit on most of U S 70 from 65 to 70 mph between Roswell and Portales after four laning. Through Kenna the limit goes from 45 to 55 mph. Elida remains unchanged. Maintenance crews will install and adjust signs. For questions contact district two traffic engineer Robert Kurtz at 637-7229.
