Editorial: GOP health care plan worsens costs and access
The House bill passed 217 to 213 would raise out of pocket costs and risk denial of coverage for pre existing conditions by allowing states to opt out of the federal mandate. It guts Medicaid by about 880 billion over 10 years and shifts costs to states, risking reduced benefits. Senate should reject it and preserve protection while pursuing reform with balance.
