Voters in Youngstown, Ohio, cast ballots in a special election on a 12 mill operating levy to reopen schools next fall after five weeks of closure due to funding. By 9 a.m. about 20,000 had voted. up to 60,000 expected by 6:30 p.m. This is the seventh voting cycle on a school tax in 28 months. past defeats prompted a financial crisis and a $15 million budget for 1968 with only $11.165 million levy. If approved, the new levy would add about $6 million yearly. Superintendent W W Zinser warned the schools will not reopen in September without new millage. Abductors Leave Woman to Flee at Drive-In

Infant Rita Montoya Rites Set At St John Catholic Church
Funeral services for 15 day old Rita Montoya daughter of Ernest and Rita Montoya will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St John Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Ballard Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The infant, born April 20, died Monday at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. 25th Plane Diverted To Island In Cuba Hijacking
A gunman and another with a shiny knife hijacked a National Airlines plane en route to Miami.
