Fifth grader wins statewide award for Stranger Danger drawing
Fifth grade student Jesus Luna from Nancy Lopez Elementary School received a statewide recognition from the New Mexico State Police for a poster themed Stranger Danger. Luna’s crayon drawing shows a man in a police car as a mom and daughter watch. The winning poster will go to federal judges in a national Bring Our Children Home contest. Governor Gutierrez praised Luna’s creativity and awareness as Missing Persons official Ginene Trujillo and Santa Fe staff celebrated with a pizza party.
