O'Neill loses bid to defend Kentucky Derby title
Kentucky Derby winner from 2012 Doug O'Neill watched Goldencents finish 17th among 19 in sloppy track conditions. Jockey Kevin Krigger failed to break an African American winning drought as Frac Daddy finished just ahead. Gary Stevens rode 30-1 longshot Oxbow to sixth, while Rosie Napravnik placed fifth on Mylute. Todd Pletcher struggled, with Revolutionary third for best finish among his horses. The track at Churchill Downs was sloppy after 0.20 inches of rain prior to post.
