Insurance carriers for Roswell Independent School District paid about 2 million in structured settlements to Berrendo Middle School shooting victims Kendal Sanders and Nathaniel Tavarez for medical expenses and damages. Sanders gets 937,500 and 96 percent of net, Tavarez 1 million and 95 percent, with parents receive tiny shares. Structured annuities cover medical and legal bills with remaining funds for future needs. Both teens faced multiple surgeries and lead pellet injuries. Tavarez suffers a blind left eye and extensive injuries.
