Families of crash victims can sue for pain and suffering
A federal appeals court ruled that families of TWA Flight 800 victims can seek millions in damages for pain and suffering since the crash off Long Island was not governed by the Death on the High Seas Act. The 2nd Circuit said the 12 mile U.S. territorial sea extended by Reagan in 1988 allows broader claims. The case names Boeing TWA and Hydro Aire Inc. A trial is set for next Feb. 1.

Eight dead in mobile home fire near Acworth Georgia
A fast moving fire at a four bedroom mobile home 30 miles northwest of Atlanta killed eight people including an infant. The blaze started near a clothes dryer and did not have a working smoke detector. Fire officials said victims were found in both back and front sections of the home while neighbors tried to help.
