Supreme Court Limits State Taxes on Reservation Indians
In a unanimous decision the court curbed state income tax collection from reservation Indians, ruling states cannot tax off reservation income from certain Indian businesses without clear guidelines. Rosalind McClanahan and 71,300 Navajo residents challenged Arizona tax on income earned on reservation.
