PRC chief of staff to resign for county commission run
The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission chief of staff Dan Mayfield plans to resign to run for the Santa Fe County Commission after a federal opinion invoking the Hatch Act. The Office of Special Counsel cites federal funds overseen by Mayfield. The PRC received $680,000 for safety programs and $800,000 in stimulus to hire staff and consultants. Mayfield has not set a resignation date.

Accident kills Roswell man at West Union and First Street
Joseph Kintz, 93, of Roswell, died in a two vehicle crash at the West Union Avenue and First Street intersection. Kaitlyn Bird-Rupe, 23, driving northbound with a 2 year old, was arrested for driving on a suspended license. The driver’s condition of the child is not reported.
