Noted City Businessman Dies at 79 in Roswell
Harvey A. Poorbaugh, 79, longtime Roswell publisher and editor, died Saturday at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. He co founded Hall Poorbaugh Press and edited the Roswell Evening News. Survived by a daughter, three sons, a sister and multiple grandchildren. Funeral Tuesday at Ballard Funeral Home. He was born February 17, 1883, in Glencoe Pennsylvania.

Top Exhibits At Science Fair Winners From New Mexico
Two Pecos Valley students, R Page Hubbard of Dexter and Perry Abernethy of Carlsbad, won top honors at the Southeastern New Mexico Science Fair. They will represent the region at the State Science Fair in Socorro on April 7 and receive a paid trip to the National Science and World's Fair in Seattle. Hubbard entered an experimental high temperature plasma generator, and Abernethy presented ultrasonic sound and its effect on bacteria.
