Homestead Hospitality LLC plans to hire about 20 new employees for the existing hotel as the 80-room Holiday Inn Express on Military Heights Drive near 2300 N. Main St. prepares to open by late April. General Manager Jill Cleveland, with 11 years at the local property, will move staff to the new operation and seek a general manager soon to start hiring. The Santa Cruz based owners, formerly GB Hotel Group, built the $8 million Express to meet Formula Blue standards, preferring a new build to renovate the Main Street property, and the hotel will feature an indoor pool and hot tub.
