More than 6,600 people joined the 26.2 mile Bataan Memorial Death March from White Sands Missile Range in Las Cruces. Survivors attended, including 98-year-old Ben Skardon who traveled from South Carolina for the ninth year and hiked eight and a half miles.

Woman Killed Avoiding Ladder Crash Near Hagerman
Capitan woman Lisa Barrett 28 died in a early morning crash on State Road 249 east of Hagerman. She was ejected after attempting to avoid a ladder in the roadway, the vehicle overturned several times and she was not wearing a seatbelt. The crash remains under investigation.
