Senate Defeat Delays Vote On Tax Cut Bill

Moore U.S. Army Retired 57 of 2100 Fulkerson Drive will be held at 3 30 p m Friday from St Andrew s Episcopal Church Roswell with Rev James R Peters officiating Special music by Mrs Delbert Dyche Moore died Wednesday night at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center following an apparent heart attack He was born October 25 1917 in Columbus Ohio and lived in Roswell since moving from Hollywood California He was a West Point graduate 1940 George Washington University 1961 and USC 1971 librarian at Roswell Public Library Former Rotary Club editor He served from 1940 to 1947 rising to major then lieutenant colonel by 1950 retiring July 31 1970 with multiple military honors and eight campaigns Burial in Fort Bliss National Cemetery El Paso Texas Ballard Funeral Home in charge Surviving are wife two daughters a son a brother a sister and two grandchildren The pallbearers include Cols Norman E Fisher George B Robbins and others Honorary pallbearers listed from local library and Rotary Club involvement.

The February Consumer Price Index shows a continued rise driven by higher costs for services such as medical care utilities and rent while food prices rise only marginally. Real earnings fell further and purchasing power declined as inflation remained persistent though moderating.
