Roswell rancher Curtis Hill spent 8 100 to purchase six cows and calves from a Sweetwater Texas sale using a special telephone hookup to Nolan County Coliseum. Chaves W. Lewis dispersal sale was coordinated by Al W. Woodburn with Woodburn bidding ringside while Hill directed the deal from his office.

Flyin' Grandpa Rescued From Greenland Icecap
America's veteran pilot Max Conrad, 62, was rescued after crash landing on Greenland's icecap while ferrying a Procaer Picchio F15 from Italy to Canada. He walked to a nearby fishing boat, was picked up by an Icelandic airliner, then flown to a U.S. base in Greenland and headed for Goose Bay. This was his first serious accident in 35 years. He resides in Winona, Minnesota.

Two Base Airmen Injured When Car Strikes Church Sign
Two Walker Air Force servicemen were injured, not seriously, after a car overturned and struck a church sign at First Christian Church on South Main Street. Driver John J. Hanrahan and passenger Terry L. Noble were taken to the base hospital. The crash left the car a total loss and sign damage estimated at $1,000.

Services for Otis E. Nelson of Hinsdale Alabama brother of the late Lt. Col. Grant N. Nelson will be held Friday in Hinsdale. Donations go to the Grant N.
