Glover Strike Ends With Three Year Contract Acceptance

Amalgamated Meat Cutters Local 391 voted 221 to 71 to accept a three year deal with Glover ac or, averting a strike that would have begun after Feb 25. The package raises wages by 1.50 per hour across year three and includes staged increases totaling 1.50 through 1981, guaranteeing 38 hours once operations resume. Union officials warned of plant closure if finances deteriorated, while lawyer David Norvell represented the union in negotiations.
