Johannesburg March 14 General Smuts directs the battle against the revolting miners and Boer bands as government troops close in on the last two rebel strongholds. Over three thousand rebels captured to date. Six land towns once seized by rebels cleared with slight government losses.
The largest children’s hospital in the world opened recently at Alexan dropol in the Southern Caucasus. Directed by Dr. R. T his of Fitchburg Massachusetts, it is financed entirely by Near East Relief from American funds. It currently has 2,700 beds in 40 wards and will reach 6,000 beds when completed next May.
