Roswell eyes Phoenix flights amid rising ridership and city support
Roswell and partners have spent over 1 million dollars on the American Airlines service to Phoenix with a 1.2 million minimum revenue agreement due to expire at month end. City Manager Joe Neeb notes monthly reviews by the consortium and optimism for self-sustaining service as ridership climbs from under 450 per quarter in early 2016 to over 600 per quarter since June 2017. Artesia extended its participation for three months, while regional leaders pursued the route for three years.
