March Wind Strikes Roswell Causes Wide Damage
A powerful March gust toppled utility poles near Wal[ker] Air Force Base and disrupted service to western Roswell and Central Valley REA customers. Power was restored to the base in 22 minutes via an alternate line, with western city service back in 1 hour 15 minutes. Damages included blown windows, snapped limbs, a shed onto railroad tracks, and tossed tumbleweeds. Snow fell an inch in Ruidoso.
