Four More Cities Join Water Group In New Mexico

Four more cities joined the Ute Dam Water Users Association in Portales as the group grows past 15 communities. Carlsbad Eunice Hobbs and Lovington added to Roswell Artesia Clovis Portales Elida Tucumcari Hagerman Logan San Jon Melrose Dexter, with plans to draft a charter by September 1 and extend a proposed pipeline to Lovington and Hobbs.

Police Track Stolen Hub Caps and Purses Across Town

Police filed reports of stolen hub caps from two cars on West Eighth Street and at the Desmond Ford Company lot. Linda Sanders reported her purse taken Monday from Yucca Junior High School with a $50 watch and a $4 camera. Mary Ruth McMullen said her purse disappeared while shopping at Sears Roebuck, containing $20, a driver’s license, and a social security card. The Clover Club Food Co. building was broken into over the weekend, with about $15 in pepperoni and other items stolen.

Artesian Man Cited in Artesia Hit-and-Run

Eloy M. Salsberry of Artesia was cited for leaving the scene after his vehicle struck Douglas Arthur D Agostino’s car. D Agostino reported the hit-and-run at 11 58 p m, and police later located the driver and issued the citation.

Three Men Juvenile Arraigned In District Court

Three adults and one juvenile faced arraignment Monday in district court. George Griggs 22 and James O McClure 24 pleaded not guilty to forgery with bonds set at 1500 and 2500 dollars respectively. Juan Linares 19 pled not guilty to burglary linked to a truck break in January 22. Ignacio Lucero 15 admitted burglary and was sent to Boys Industrial School at Springer. Springer custody until 21 or further order. Judge Reese announced the spring term starts April 13.

Isidro Reyes Rites Stated at Our Lady of Grace

Funeral services for Isidro Reyes Jr. ten of Seven Rivers will be held at 4 pm Wednesday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Artesia. He died Sunday after being hit by a car. Burial follows at San Marcos Cemetery. He was born in Mexico and lived in Eddy County with his parents and siblings.
