Anti gambling bill referred to Territorial Affairs panel

Special to the Daily Record Santa Fe New Mexico March 8 The anti gambling measure passes the council and the House bill on the same ground meets opposition in the council while the Sanchez anti gambling bill is sent to the Territorial Affairs committee likely to stay there for the rest of the session. President declines to schedule Harriman interview

The White House said the President made no appointment for an interview with E. H. Harriman. He would be glad to meet Harriman when he visits Washington, just as he would with any visitor. Maxwell Evarts, Harriman’s counsel, had earlier indicated the President would see him at any time.

Guardian Change Sought for Dora Underwood

In probate court Judge J T Evans presided yesterday and today as Mrs Matilda McPherson sought a new guardian for her 13 year old sister Dora Underwood. Their brother Marshall Underwood has cared for Dora since their mother died nine years ago.

Corner Stone Day Set for New Baptist Church

The new Baptist church at Fifth Street and Pennsylvania Avenue is advancing with corner stone plans. Sunday March 17 is chosen for the ceremony in the afternoon to allow universal attendance. Masons will oversee the event with a program and a guest speaker. A sealed box containing documents and curios will be placed in the stone. Further announcements follow.
