Delta Flight Skids Off LaGuardia Runway Into Fence
Delta Air Lines Flight 1086 carrying 125 passengers and five crew members veered off LaGuardia Runway 7, crashed into a snow covered fence and wing, then slid onto the pavement near Flushing Bay. Six people had non-life threatening injuries, two hospitalized, while passengers exited over the wing as firefighters assisted. The NTSB will retrieve flight data and cockpit voice recorders as investigators examine damage and the runway’s engineered material arresting system.
