Man Convicted in Rendering Plant Waste Dumping Case
An El Paso man Hector Villa III 43 was found guilty by a state district court jury on five counts of illegal dumping and three counts of failure to report illegal dumping. He faces up to 18 months in prison and a $5 000 fine on each count. Investigators say he allowed the dumping of rendering plant waste into the Elephant Butte irrigation system and a Las Cruces area landfill. Co defendant Larry Gorzeman pleaded guilty to a felony count for disposals behind his property.
