The house yesterday advanced a bill described as pertinent to Hudspeth with advocates stating its aims and opponents promising scrutiny. Debates centered on implications for local governance and budgetary impact.
Special to the Daily Record Santa Fe March 1 The New Mexico House passed Council bill 65 with a minor amendment by fifteen to six Abbott Hudspeth Moran Mullens Ruppe Walters voting Nay Den niston absent. The measure allows arbitration of public officer accounts and moves out of office cases to the officer’s home county. Hudspeth denounced the bill calling it aid to criminals.
The New Orleans Philharmonic Society opens with a concert featuring pianist Antoinette Szumowska Adamowski and the Adamowski trio. Szumowska Adamowski is described as Europe’s most celebrated pianist. The event is in New Orleans, Louisiana, on March 2.
Southern railway workers have agreed to donate a portion of their salaries this month to fund a monument for the late President Spencer. The statue will be placed at the entrance to the Union Station in Atlanta.
Atlanta report states John Bullard of Cobb County was executed by hanging in Marietta for the murder of his daughter after conviction.
The Australian liner Ventura of the Oceanic Steamship Company will postpone sailing scheduled for tomorrow from San Francisco. Officials say the ship is badly in need of repairs and will be retained for that purpose for an undetermined time.
The mandolin club of the University of Kansas will begin a tour of Kansas and Missouri this evening, departing from Topeka. The group plans to perform at several cities during the trip.
District Attorney Jerome plans to apply for a commission in lunacy to examine Harry Thaw. Dr B D Evans, chief medical expert for the defense, testified Thaw showed adolescent insanity in 1903 and at his 1905 marriage. Evans argued Thaw appeared seized by a recurring game malady when he killed White in 1906.
The witness could not obtain any admission from the subject that would prove Thaw is a paranoiac. Prosecution may argue that Thaw’s alleged adolescent insanity was not chronic and that Thaw shows paranoia rather than a transient madness.
A special car loaded with patents for Choctaw and Chickasaw allottees will depart Muskogee March 2 and travel through the month into mid April. About 30,000 patents will be delivered to the Indians, with the interior department directing delivery to individual allottees at designated railroad stations.
Warsaw reports that the order ending martial law in Poland has been countermanded and the military will remain in control indefinitely. Troop orders direct stricter enforcement than ever before.
Monterey Mexico March 2 The city authorities and American residents plan a party of over 100 tourists from New York and Boston arriving tomorrow on their Eastward trip. They warn offenders from a prior visit will be punished for indiscretions. Offenders included wedding photographers at the cathedral and vandalism of vendor stalls. The Casing private club was invaded and tourists were seen taking valuables as souvenirs. Residents have lodged a formal complaint with the tourist manager.
The Brooklyn league team departs Sunday for a Florida training camp in Jacksonville. Manager Patsy Donovan expects a pennant run aided by a strengthened pitching staff including McIntyre Pastorius Scanlon Strickett Bell Whiting Rucher and others. Bergen Ritter Butler remain behind the plate alongside Tim Jordan Alpernam Casey and Lewis infield with Maloney McCarthy Batch in the outfield.
Mrs. David A Neese of Charleston plans a half million dollar modern tourist hotel project in San Antonio Texas. She already holds substantial real estate holdings in the city.
Dr. G. T. Veal, after a Dallas visit for cattlemen's convention matters, says the trip secured first class attractions for Roswell during convention week. He arranged lumber for the baseball park grand stand and skating rink at mill prices and confirmed rail car arrangements to bring it to Roswell. He plans to return early next week.

Mrs Eddy files a lawsuit with her son against scientists alleging improper accounting of her property. The action seeks a full audit and restitution as the case proceeds in court.
New Hampshire suit filed by George W. Glover and relatives seeks an accounting of Mrs Mary Baker Eddy's finances. Petition asserts Mrs Eddy is incapacitated and under control of Frye Strang and others who manage extensive Christian Science property for their own ends.
County commissioners fixed the Dexter bridge location at Site C the lowest feasible site two miles east and a half mile north of Dexter. They also set today to prepare a tax schedule for Chaves County for this year.
