Missouri prison guards charged in death of Black man

Five Missouri corrections officers face second degree murder and accessory counts over the December 2023 death of Othel Moore at Jefferson City Correctional Center. Moore died of positional asphyxiation after pepper spray, a spit hood, and restraint chair were used while he was held in a cell.

Driver charged with DWI after fatal Deer Park nail salon crash

Suffolk County police say Steven Schwally of Dix Hills was speeding when his SUV plowed into Hawaii Nail & Spa in a Deer Park strip mall, killing four and injuring nine including a 12 year old girl. Officer Emilia Reinback, off duty, among the deceased, with DA saying arraignment to come.
