U S Mexico Reach Water Deal To Aid Rio Grande Valley Farmers
U S and Mexican officials signed a water pact releasing 90 000 acre feet from Falcon Reservoir to relieve drought stricken Rio Grande Valley farmers. The accord ends Mexico s 10 year failure to meet the 1944 treaty and moves toward joint conservation funding and infrastructure modernization.

Roswell Police Briefs Report Thefts At Home Store
A Roswell man had an air conditioner stolen from his home while he was inside at 5:30 a.m. Two unknown men loaded the unit into a station wagon and fled. Victor Torres was jailed for shoplifting five packs of Colby Cheese worth 17.84 from Farmers Market. Kanesha Rice, 21, was detained and charged with shoplifting after eating olives and beef jerky at Lawrence Brothers IGA and fleeing.
