Carolyn Delory admired the Glow Parade in the Return to Roswell National New Beetle Show. Thirty Beetles participated across Friday and Saturday with awards for Best of Show Best Interior Furthest Driven to Roswell and Best Graphics Paint. The event continues Sunday with a lunch banquet and awards at Portofino's Restaurant.
A group of Volkswagen Beetle enthusiasts road trips Route 66 to the Return to Roswell National New Beetle Show. The band travels the historic Main Street of America, 2500 miles from Illinois to California, amid Route 66 lore. The travelers include Chuck Cummins Theresa Smith Vernon Cox Aus tin Mueller and Tabitha Lavis.
Jim Montgomery of Roswell has donated over 15 000 hours to the Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge and U S Fish and Wildlife Service over 30 years. He began in 1985 and since 1989 has counted sandhill cranes at off refuge roosts weekly from October to March and led a five year study of crane use of Roswell area farmlands and wetlands.
