Court upholds drug tests for high school students
The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that public high schools may require drug tests for students in competitive after school activities or teams. The decision broadens testing beyond athletes, while allowing schools to address campus drug use despite privacy concerns. Justices Breyer and others supported extending the policy. The ruling leaves random testing for all students undecided.
