The National Editorial Association annual session convened at Festival Hall during the World's Fair, drawing about thirty thousand attendees. Delegates and opposition figures discussed Miles' presidential nominating position as the convention opened.

Mr M Hart of Cleburne Texas and Miss Mary E Moore of Roswell were married at the brides sister Mrs W Meacham’s home on South Kentucky Avenue with Rev W E Lyon officiating. State Treasurer Whitney Newton of Colorado met with National Civic Federation officials to plan a Denver branch office similar to Boston and Chicago. The Cripple Creek labor troubles were also discussed.
Beekman Winthrop sails for San Juan to assume governorship of Porto Rico on July 4 succeeding William H. Hunt. Also aboard are Charles F. McKenna of Pittsburgh and Adolph G. Wolf of Washington named United States Judges of Porto Rico and Delegate Degefau sailing for San Juan.
Cattle markets show mixed to steady trends across Kansas City Chicago and St Louis with range of prices. Kansas City lists native and western cattle from 1.50 to 6.40 and sheep broadly steady with muttons and lambs quoted. Chicago records firm cattle with prices from 1.50 to 6.65 and Texas fed steers 4.90 to 5.25. St Louis notes wool prices steady with territory and western mediums 16 to 23.
Walter Scott reported to police that he was robbed of 12000 dollars in gold on a Pullman car between Pittsburg and Harrisburg. He said he had spent years in Dawson City Alaska where he made a fortune in mining.
W D Garwood announces Pecos Valley Lines has ordered material for a new depot to be built in two stories of stone cement and brick with fireproof construction. The initial cost is $7,000 though total expense is expected to rise as work proceeds.
Mr and Mrs H F Smith hosted a reception at their Missouri avenue home for the church congregation on Monday evening June 27. More than a hundred guests attended as music from the Cecilian filled the rooms and lawn. Refreshments were served, and the event was described as one of the season s most pleasant due to the hosts cordial hospitality.
Lake Orion Michigan June 28 The Christian Endeavor movement in Michigan shows growth with a large representative attendance at the biennial state convention in session. Every county in the state sends delegates and the gathering is described as the best ever held. The opening welcome meeting is this evening and the session runs through the week. The program covers junior department work Bible study missionary plans and other society activities.
R S White a local carpenter collapsed and died at his home in Carlsbad New Mexico at 5 am He was 46 and survived by a family He had worked in Roswell before moving to Carlsbad The death was caused by heart disease Funeral services were to be held that afternoon.

Portales residents learned a metropolitan daily is issued in the Ysecos Valley and many promised to start or renew subscriptions. Buck Dobbs acts as local agent selling Records at his father’s drug store and on the streets.
Mrs. John Richey of Artesia left last evening for home following a visit to her son-in-law Harry Hamilton. Hamilton sustained leg burns at the ice plant a few days ago and Mrs. Richey had been nursing him.

Wendell Monroe Reed, district engineer in the United States Reclamation Service for New Mexico, is noted for his role in advancing the Hondo Reservoir project. W T Harris and C W Dabney spoke for the association while J W Cook and E J James addressed welcomes and educational themes. The National Council of Education and Indian education department continued sessions as other departments began conferences.
