Judge rules Texaphone dispute out of federal jurisdiction

Chaves County records 46 marriage licenses in June with a goal to beat last year’s June total. Regents Must Answer Why Blocked Wisconsin President Hire

Las Vegas AP Judge Joe Angel issued a temporary restraining order preventing New Mexico Highlands University regents from hiring Dr. Charles J. Graham of Wisconsin State University as president. District Attorney Donald A. Martinez alleges the regents rejected Dr. John Aragon of Albuquerque because of origin, violating the Fair Employment Practices Act.
