Witness Sees Plane Loop Before Fatal Crash

A light T-34 plane operated by Walker AFB Aero Club crashed near the Tatum oil fields Saturday at 2:45 pm, killing 2nd Lt. Jerry R. Williams and 2nd Lt. Hugh L. Willoughby, both assigned to the 4129th Training Squadron. Witness M. L. Vandergriff said another plane was nearby when the doomed craft went into a loop. Bodies were returned to Roswell after an investigation. the cause remained undetermined.
